Routing Number

Banking & Credit

A routing number is a 9-digit ABA (American Bankers Association) number that identifies a US bank for ACH transfers, wire transfers, direct deposit, and check processing. Each bank has multiple routing numbers — different ones for ACH versus wires versus the state where the account was opened. Find yours on the bottom-left of a check, on your online banking statement, or via the bank's website. Sharing your routing and account number lets others deposit money to you (paychecks, refunds) but also lets some withdraw (ACH debits). Use routing numbers carefully and verify before sharing.
