Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you control them.

At a glance. We use cookies to remember your preferences (such as your currency selector), to keep you signed in to a course, and to measure aggregated traffic via Google Analytics. Display ads from Google AdSense may set additional cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so may break some functionality. Email contact@businessskillforge.com for any cookie-related question.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your browser by a website you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the site owner. Some cookies last only for the duration of your session (“session cookies”); others persist for a set period (“persistent cookies”). Cookies set by the domain you are visiting are called “first-party cookies”; cookies set by other domains are “third-party cookies.”

2. How we use cookies

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the Site to function. Examples include the WordPress session cookie that keeps you logged in to your course dashboard, the WooCommerce cart cookie that remembers items in your shopping cart, and the LiteSpeed Cache cookie that selects the right cached version of a page for your device. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies and still use the corresponding feature.

2.2 Functional cookies

These remember your preferences across visits. Examples include the BSF currency selector (stored in localStorage; expires when you clear browser data), your accepted-cookie-banner flag, and your dark/light mode preference (if applicable). You may delete these via your browser’s storage settings.

2.3 Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregated traffic patterns. Google Analytics sets several cookies including _ga, _ga_*, and _gid. These cookies do not identify you personally; they identify your browser/device for the purpose of distinguishing unique visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

2.4 Advertising cookies

We may display ads via Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may set cookies to deliver ads, measure ad performance, and (where you have consented) personalize ads. You can adjust your ad personalization in your Google Ads Settings and opt out of personalized advertising at the Digital Advertising Alliance.

2.5 Affiliate-link cookies

When you click an affiliate link (such as a /recommends/… link), the destination retailer typically sets a cookie on your browser to attribute the eventual purchase to BSF. We never see that cookie or the data it tracks — we only see the click event on our own server.

4. How to manage or delete cookies

You can manage cookies directly in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions

Disabling all cookies will break certain features (you may need to re-select your currency on every visit, course progress may not save, the shopping cart may forget your items).

5. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy as our cookie usage changes. The most current version always sits at this URL with the “Last reviewed” date in the header.
