The Saver's Credit (Retirement Savings Contributions Credit) provides up to $1,000 ($2,000 married joint) tax credit for low-to-moderate income workers contributing to retirement accounts. Credit rate (50%, 20%, or 10% of contributions) depends on AGI: 50% rate requires AGI under $23,750 single / $47,500 married 2026; phases out at $39,500 / $79,000. Often-overlooked credit — millions of eligible savers miss it. Contribute even small amounts to 401(k), IRA, or ABLE accounts to claim. Even a $400 IRA contribution can yield $200 credit at 50% rate. Includes voluntary contributions to employer plans, IRAs, ABLE accounts.
