Number to Words Converter
Turn a dollar amount into words for writing checks and invoices — the exact wording banks expect. USD.
How to write a check amount
Write the dollars in words, then and, then cents as a fraction over 100. The word “Dollars” is already printed on the check.
Example. $1,234.56 is written One thousand two hundred thirty-four and 56/100. For a whole amount like $500.00, write Five hundred and 00/100.
Tip: draw a line through any remaining blank space after the amount so no one can alter it, and make sure the words match the numeric box exactly — banks pay the written words if the two disagree.
